While appraising a small collection I ran across what was purported to be a aluminum 1971 cent. As you can see by several scratches (some more discrete that others) along with weight tests it is found to have a light coating of Aluminum over its original copper.. no big winner here.

Here is a work on progress. The red World War II OPA tokens are placeholders for pieces that I have in slabs. I need four coins to finish.

Here are a couple of the better coins.

1864-L This piece is graded MS-64, R&B. It's obviously not in the album.

1877 This cent is graded EF-40

Very nice! You have captured the detail and 3D feel really well.

    I will share, too.

The top picture is through the scuffed holder, which had it graded as a lowly MS63 BN. I imagined the slab traveling from show to show and dealer to dealer, with nobody really able to see how nice it was.

Then I freed it and liked it even better. All I can figure is that is was graded long ago, before the MS64 and MS65 were common.
