SMALL 1982 D WEIGHS 3.0 OZ

    I found this the other day.... It weighs 3.0 oz on my scale...Sorry about the pictures,
    I tried to do the best I could.....I had to use my photo camera and that's not as
    good as the microscope camera...But if you look at the scale you should see the

    you mean 3.0 grams, which is normal for your 1982 d large date cent....

    You're thinking of the 82-D SMALL date "copper". Like Ken said, this isn't it.

    Thanks guys, I was thinking this was the small date,

    Oh wow Michael!!! We both had the same picture!! This is what I was using
    when I was going through the 1982's....Ain't that something :hilarious:

    Once you see the small date 2, you never forget it, and it's easy to tell them apart.

    Odd.....Picture one seems to show the 2 as small but picture 2 seems to show a large 2....????.....How the H@ll do you measure that? AAAAASMALL.jpg

    Both of those are clearly large date coins.

    It's not the size of the 2 that is large or small. That's just the name of the variety.
    Now in the 1960 small date, it is physically smaller than the large date.
    But I don't think the 1982 does that.
