So I also have a silver colored 1957 wheat penny and we know nothing about it or about coins. It came out of a roll of dimes and is the exact same size as a dime, so the edges appear cut off. Non- magnetic, on my digital food scale it weighs less than 3 grams. Any one know anything about this?
Re-weigh the coin on a more accurate, coin (.01 or .1 gram) scale - if it weighs 2.5 grams and passes a neodymium/rare earth magnet slide test, you may have a winner (see posts 79, 80). As others are hinting at and complaining about, start a new thread about your specific coin (this one is from 2010 and resurrecting it over and over is counterproductive and apparently annoying to some - keep researching and good luck
I have a 1957 penny in nice shape. No mint stamp, just 1957. Very shiny and silver. My husband passed and I know nothing about this but couldn't find one anywhere on internet. What should I do. He has it in a sleeve thing for protection and he told me he has a penny worth over $1,000 but I never asked him which one.
