Chris, Now that's a great reply! LOL I may have gotten overly defensive at the first response, BUT I found your second response to be extremely informative, and very valuable!!! I really appreciate that! There are several things you mentioned that I definitely did not know. I am recently re-born into coin collecting. I used to collect when I was a kid (30 years ago!) I don't know why I ever really stopped. The 2009 Lincoln cents kind of re-sparked my interest in coins. So, I purchased a 2009 silver proof set, because I always liked the proofs. I still have my first 1976 silver set. I thought the bicentennial coins were the coolest thing ever. Actually, I still do. Anyway, while looking at the DC and Territory coins, I started think about how the States must look in proof, and over a few months purchased all 10 proof sets. I got several of them for just around spot value of the silver content! I felt like I was getting the other coins for free!!! The '99 was expensive, but was worth it to complete the set. These coins are just beautiful! My favorites are New York (where I live), New Jersey, Connecticut and Nevada. After listening to a lot of the advice given so far, I think I'm going to pass on buying the slabbed quarters. I think I, like many novices, got caught up in the hype. I love the 56 proof quarters I have, along with all the other proof coins in the sets. That's more than enough. Chris, I'm sorry we got off to a bad start, but I can see you're very well respected in these forums. I hope going forward it's all good, and I can learn a lot from you and many of the other experienced coin enthusiasts in here!
