Hey guys, has anyone seen anything like this? I bought a huge error coin lot and there are many of these noted "waffled". I have seen waffled coins that are mis-shapened, but supposedly these were mint rejects due to something that happened during the cooling process?

    Just one picture?
That does not look waffled to me.
Show the entire coin. Both sides.

Sorry that is the best view I can get with the USB microscope. Nothing special on the other side. Like I said, it is not the waffling I have seen in the past but was more wondering what part of the cooling process would leave these marks.

I'm thinking more Post Mint Damage toning.

Coins weren't being waffled until 2003 if my memory serves me correctly.

All I see is a strange toning. Very unattractive.

    Looks like a stain?
A waffled coin is pretty much destroyed by waffling which is the purpose.
