This is a "how to buy" and "how not to sell" example, I guess. I found a listing for "1962 D Roosevelt Dime Very Fine Condition", Buy It Now $2.00 -- with $2.72 S&H. Two available. Wonder if he combines shipping? "Multiple item purchasers, if you order more than 8 coins, your package will be sent in a flat rate priority mail package which should arrive in 2 to 3 days after payment clears." Yeah, but how much? I wasn't going to dive in without a firm commitment, and apparently neither was anyone else. He had something like 8 auctions listed, all for similar Roosies, all with the same BIN and terms. So, I sent him a message, and he responded -- $6.20 flat rate for 8 or more coins. Okay, I thought, $6.20 amortized over nine dimes at $2 a pop still brings me out slightly ahead of melt. Better start buying before someone else gets the same idea. Two dimes in this auction. Got 'em. One in the next. Got it. 2. 1. 2. 2. "More than 10." Woohoo! How many more? 13 total, as it turned out, and 2 more in the last auction -- 26 silver dimes at $2 each, plus $6.20 shipping, total $58.20. Now, he could've listed these as a batch at $80 + $6.20 shipping, and they would've been snatched in minutes. Or he could've made it an actual auction, and depending on what silver does over the next few days, they could've gone higher still. It's just a bunch of late Roosies, but I got 'em for less than 2/3 of current melt. And yeah, I enjoyed the hunt.
