Could get interesting with these paper purchases if they continue selling on futures, and start having issues delivering on expected delivery dates. Some people might find themselves with a lot of worthless paper, like those that held onto Silver Certificates in hopes of government redemption at some point in the future.

Think some firm wouldn't default on paper?

The government can get away with not paying it's obligations! If you can't trust your government, you cannot trust some metal trading company.

You haven't seen but the tip of the iceberg my friend.
, let the good times roll, the fun is just beginning with the financial meltdown. You better be frightened when the talking heads on MSNBC and CNN are reassuring you not to panic, 98% of the institutions are well capitalised etc.

Wait, the government is bailing out stuff right and left. The money is going to run out at some point, unless the BEP and the Federal Reserve start creating money like toilet paper to pay for all these bailouts, Iraq, Social Security, and presto $100 a gallon gasoline.
