According to the Red Book, the earlier years were as follows:
1986 - 5,393,005 circulation, 1,446,778 proof
1987 - 11,442,335 circulation, 904,732 proof
1988 - 5,004,646 circulation, 557,370 proof
1989 - 5,203,327 circulation, 617,694 proof
1990 - 5,840,210 circulation, 695,510 proof
