Unless it is a VAM I don't see anything about a Micro O in the redbook. I don't know of any Micro O on any of the dates for Morgans or Peace dollars. Someone who knows VAM's real well might. I don't do VAM's. A silver dollar and its possible grade is the extent of my knowledge.
Im am a new collecter just trying to get decent deals. Money isnt really an option for me right now im 19 living at home going to college and have no bills, people may call me spoiled but oh well. I am engaged and going to be married in 2 years or so, so im buying coins/guns stuff that everyman should own before the wife puts an end to it LOL. I dont care if there not great deals i just enjoy them and i want to make sure im not getting totaly ripped off. I like this forum so far and its only my second day! Ill be sure to scan each idividually when i get some more time.
To keep this as close to your topic as possible I would just post them here. I know exactly what you mean on the getting married thing and not having much left for yourself bit. Enjoy while you can and the other isn't so bad either, it has its ups and downs like anything. I will try to help as much as I can here on the coins however. So far, from what I could see of the scans you aren't doing to bad at $19. There might be a few lower and a few higher, so on average you are doing just about right. He seems to be doing you fair so far. It never hurts to ask for another discount however. I believe negotiating the price, if ok by both parties, is more than fair. Happens every day on eBay. I don't endorse eBay, I think they are big crooks, no better than the US government come tax time.
The 1880-O Morgans used two different 'o' mint marks. The micro 'o' and the tall oval medium 'o' are both common. From what I have seen, most of the 1880-O's are micro o's. When people refer to the 'micro o' for the Morgan series, they are usually talking about four dates. The 1899-O is the real micro 'o' coin. The micro o's for 1896, 1900, and 1902 have been identified as counterfeits. They are still very collectable.... and extremely collectable if they reside in a PCGS holder. You can read more here. I have often paid $19+ for the types of Morgans you are posting. Lately, I have been selling most of my circulated common date Morgan dollars. I've attended a few coin shows, needed spending money, and sold a few in bulk to dealers. The last batch of 60 coins sold at $10 each. The best I have done was about 100 coins at $12.50 each. I don't have any more sell. I usually try to pull out a few coins just before a local show. Last thing... all Morgans and Peace dollars are VAMs. The VAM designation identifies the die pair and in some cases, the die state.
You might want to slow down the buying pace and research each coin and condition a little closer before making a new purchase. It's tough to tell from the small scans, but I think you're overpaying a bit for the coins. This might not matter in the long run, since my personal but impossible to prove belief is that common date morgans will continue to rise in price well into the future. But you may be able to get equivalent coins elsewhere for less money right now.
