Hey guys, I just bought a couple pounds of foreign coin the other day at my local coin shop while picking up a couple Christmas gifts. The shop owner claims that while they do sort out most of the good silver, they do leave some of it in with the rest of the foreign coins. Does anybody know of a good online reference, possibly with pictures, for identifying foreign coins with the intent of determining their silver content? Thanks in advance.
You can try this link...it has helped me in the past http://worldcoincatalog.com/Contents/CID/coin-identifier.htm
This is also a good site. Find the coin you are looking for and click on " coin values" It will give you the ASW. http://worldcoingallery.com/
Krause's Standard Catalogue of World coins is the book(s) that no serious collector should be without. It should tell you all you need to know about metal content etc...
