Silver ATB Quarter?

    Always wondered about the source
    I guess it could be platinum plated
    I’ll get it XRF sometime

    It probably came out of a plated set that was hawked as collectible and valuable.
    And when the people took it to a coin shop to sell it (more than 1 shop) and found out it was worthless (face value) they spent it.

    Yeah, what caught me was that they sent me a 1794 cent as an "approval", and I fell in love. The only other things I remember buying were uncirculated war nics.

    I, unfortunately, have several sets of those at home from my Father-in-law's coin "collection". He got roped in to the late night home shopping hype and bought the whole collection of silver, gold and platinum plated year sets. I also have the invoices from these sets. He was a smart man in many aspects, but apparently he knew nothing about "investing" in coins. :(
