Attended a local auction today to buy a few stain/leaded glass panels and a couple of "sack prints." The items were selling so fast I hung around to see how much the Ag 100 ounce Engelhard bar and one ounce Ag Franklin bullion was going to sell for. The 100 troy ounce bar sold for $2,100.00 + $315.00 commission, + $126.00 tax total $2,541.00. If the bar is good the seller can immediately sell it for for at least $2,888.00 for a profit of $347.00 assuming the bar hasn't been tampered with. I did not expect to see the bar at the auction so wasn't prepared to bid on it. Some of these big bars have been drilled out then filled with lead. The Franklin one ounce Ag bullion worth melt sold for $60.00 + $9.00 commission + $3.60 tax total $72.60. Go figure.
