I am glad that the both of you have found an area you enjoy and find satisfaction in your coins. I do not feel that the pool players, or entrepreneurs would wish you ill will , I certainly do not. But, I really feel you are in the minority of the "silly minor error seekers", as the majority of those I tend to see are hoping beyond hope, theirs is somehow a 'major error' or at least a new one never seen before one of a kind, and the second thing they ask is usually "How much is it worth??" You seem to realize there are major mint errors/varieties and minor mint errors/varieties, and " damaged or non-mint errors/varieties". It is the latter group that sends some members into distress as little thought is sometimes given to the person who answers' time or the amount of learning they had to have done to even be able to answer. When new posters are referred to a webpage or source, the questioner is sometimes questioning why? ,without any reason except if they accept that comment they would have to admit they have nothing of value. If they were like you two and accepted it for what it was, every one would be much happier. A couple of days ago someone dumped a whole collection, probably from ebay , and asked someone to check them out and tell if they had anything, Why should they be willing to learn themselves if nothing was of value! Machine doubling is variation, of no monetary value as not truly a mint error/variety, but if people want to collect them realizing such, they are a content and happy person. The same for damage that is unique. The difference is in the expectations. Happy findings. Jim
