Siam porcelan gaming token.

    So only after I purchased this at the coin show did I read that these are faked quite a bit. Any way to authenticate these or possible things to look for? Pretty neat if genuine. 20190420_175038.jpg 20190420_175049.jpg

    I have seen TONs and tons of these and bullet coins popping up on ebay. I'd be very leery of these!

    I don't know if there is really any way to authenticate. Modern copies are very obvious. There were many contemporary counterfeits too. One thing to look for to start is the denomination. A lot of modern fakes don't even have a valid value on them. Your token does have a value of 1 Salung in the top photo. The other side would have the name of the Hong that issued the token.

    There is a book by H.A. Ramsden (Siamese Porcelain And Other Tokens) easily available for download (it is now public domain) with some good info. It should be easy to find with a web search.
