Well I had an almost complete Mercury dime set that was only missing the 1916-D that I sold in order to buy this coin. I had bought the dime as a set from a local dealer for a little above melt, so I wasn't as attached to that as I am my Lincolns.

I want to start a Barber set, I don't know if it's going to be dimes or quarters. I also want to start putting together an Indian set. I think they're beautiful coins as long as they have detail.

My advice on getting those early dates, buy books on eBay that are mostly complete running auctions. That's how I obtained many of my coins. Most of my early D&S mint marks came from one book I bought on eBay(11D, 12DS, 13DS, 14S, 15DS, 21S, 24D, 31S). It was only missing the 1909-S VDB and the 1914-D. The price I paid would have been like buying the 1931-S and the 1909-S, everything else was free. I went through and took out what I needed, sold the rest one by one on eBay. I got 14 coins I needed for my series, and made roughly $40 selling the ones I didn't need. It was a gamble, but that time it paid off.

Good luck with your Lincoln set!

Mine might be complete, but that doesn't mean there isn't room for upgrades!
