I've always liked the IOV ET HERCV type for Diocletian and Maximianus. Here's the companion piece to your Diocletian. MAXIMIANUS AE Antoninianus. 4.08g, 23.7mm. Antioch mint, AD 285-290. RIC V 622. Here's the last uncleaned lot coin that actually made it into my collection. Just today I found 6 coins that have been soaking in water in my garage for like the last two years! @Clavdivs is that a puzzle behind there? Now I feel like I NEED to know what that puzzle was of! And @randygeki can you tell me more about that reverse? I am not familiar with that FTR. Same with this FTR. They're very nice!

RIC describes the reverse as a Victory holding a palm branch in each hand; but this is an error. Anyone that looks closely at clear examples will see that it looks like a laurel in the right hand and palm in the left hand of Victory. Otto Voetter recognized the difference between the two branches and in his 1921 catalogue on the Gerin collection described the reverse as "Victoria mit Zweig und Palmzweig" (Victory with branch and palmbranch) I believe your mintmark is ΔSIS rather than ASIS. I can’t tell from the picture, but there is an I on altar for off. A and B; and an S on altar for off. gamma, delta, and epsilon. I also think that the victories are actually holding a wreath, same as the Magnentius type with two victories.
