John, that's a very nice Franklin Proof $1/2 coin you have got there.

The smell of freshly printed banknotes is actually quite nice. It's not the same sniffing the Unc. plastic banknotes that we sometimes get from banks over here.I miss the old paper banknotes that we used to have up until 8 years ago.

Why would I need to use the spellcheck for?

    Aidan.

I don't want to offend anyone. PCI I have noticed has a hard time telling the difference between a cameo and a non. Look for yourself at the PR 69 quarter I have posted. I'm not saying that your friend does, but alot of people send there coins to PCI or other companies so they can get a higher grade or on older proof coins a cameo designation. Not saying PCGS and NGC don't overgrade, but not nearly as much. There are some camera magic ways to make a coin look better than it does. Your friend from what I can see looks to be a very experienced photographer. He is quite good. Now I see Zane isn't replying to this thread, from what I see, it doesn't look like he wants to start a fight or conflict. I respect that. I personally wouldn't. Now could we please just drop this and let's get back to what this thread's original start was? Showing off our Walkers. Will have to get back to you AdamL and get pics. I hope I didn't offend anyone by voicing my opinion. Thanks for letting me express my opinion.

Thanks Phoenix for bringing this forward.
First which virtually no one knows and PCI does make public knowledge is they have 3 Cameo grades! 1 is Cameo. 2 is Deep Cameo. And 3 is Ultra Cameo which I have only seen two of in my life. Why they do not publish on their web site this three tier Cameo system that Rick Tomaska said was necessary years ago I do not know? My point is you or me or anyone who would care to try cannot make a coin that does not have a Cameo contrast have one. Scum Bag is a tough term when you are looking someone eye to eye. As far as PCGS or NGC Cameo grades I will probably live with to my last days the opinion that they dole those to their friend/shareholders. Be it David Hall with PCGS or Heritage with NGC. Thirty years from now history will probably say that PCGS & NGC downgraded random submitters in favor of their Shareholders/Favorites IMHO. If you bought a PCGS or NGC coin in the last 6 months you can likely believe that you bought it at the highest price it will ever achieve. I cannot say that about the other grading services because they are so totally under valued.
Anyway time will tell and it is not nice on this friendly forum to call someone a Scumbag.
A picture from my favorite photographer, can anyone match this?

Different people have diff. opinions on things. Now I'm not trying to take sides, but Zane can say anything he wants about anyone. It is a free country. From what I have seen, Zane is a really nice guy. He must have had a pretty bad experience with this seller. But, what we need to keep in mind, what Zane said was his opinion. Who are we to argue his oponion? I agree also with you that you are sticking up for a friend to which I can respect. Basically, I'm on both sides. You both have my respect. From the things you both have said and things you have done and are doing. You both seem like nice guys and I hope we can put this little spute to rest. I hope I haven't ofende you, Zane, or anyone else with what I have said.

P.S. A real test with a Cameo Walker is that the Sun is not Frosty.

John,New Zealand has never been a penal colony of Great Britain. That distinction belongs to Australia, which is a 3 hour flight from here.

I may not be American, but as a New Zealander,we have a distinctive way of spelling, which is the same as in England.Besides,I get really annoyed when people say 'an historical event' instead of 'a historical event'.

It seems very strange that you're asking me to use the spellcheck.I don't need to do that,as I can spell.

We get a lot of those Walker $1/2 coins over here. They're mostly the ones that were issued in the early 1940's that were left over here by American forces.I don't know how they would have been accepted over here.

    Alrighty guys---

John--please stop called Zane names---that must stop----I don't know where you got Nancy.....but members don't call other members names.

Also--as far as I know Aidan doesn't have to ues Spell Check--if that is a new rule here on CT please point it out to me....I know that on my computer it doens't work---and it could be the same way with Aidan...also I don't see anything in his posts that he should change for you or anyone...

We all agree and disagree about PCI----calling names and such isn't going to help one bit prove one way or the other.

Whew! Thanks, Speedy!! Now that that's over... may we please get back to looking at some nice Walkers???

Personally, I don't have any nice Walkers, but I'm sure a lot of you do! It's one of the most beautiful coins EVER produced and I'd sure like to see some.

Also, if you post pics, I'd like to know some background on them, i.e., how long you've owned the coin, how did it come into your possession, if slabbed (or even un-slabbed) what grade it is, etc.

    LET'S SEE THOSE LOVELY WALKERS ! ! ! ! ! !

    Airedale,
I apologize for not responding. You want proof of a doctored photo, look at any walker, or merc dime he has posted that looks deep cam. They simply NEVER come that way, and when they do, they sell for moon money. IMO, Jeff adjusts the contrast on his coins. I bought 2 coins from him and paid a lot of money. Why? They were the deepest cam coins I had ever seen. That is, until I got them in hand. They were blast white. No other service would even come close to calling them cam.

Also, it looks like I paid just over 500 for the coins from him, as opposed to 700. I was stupid to do so, as I had an extreme lack of knowledge then.
