I bought this coin at a show, and when I got home I noticed it had a trueview. I dont know if this coin toned after picture, or if PCGS uses some really powerful lights but the picture are way different. My picture looks closer to how it looks in hand.
Dipped bright white back in the 1980s and although it's beginning to re-tone it will never look right again.
I just got a newfound interest in problem coins! If anyone should collect them it should be us, right? Who else would admire the unique beauty, craftsmanship, and history of a problem coin? They need some love too. I'm going to keep my eye out for good deals and try posting them once and a while. Too lazy to go into the other room right now and show what I got off. Thanks for the cool posts though
It's hard to tell through the plastic but it looks like a few marks on the neck, cheek, hair and in the field under E - P.
Not to offend any US collectors, but I bought a 2000 proof Liberian Morgan because I also can't afford a real one. If I ever had enough for one, I'm sure I wouldn't throw it on one coin like that. So I figured the next best thing to owning one was the Liberian I got for 40, already graded, and is one ounce of silver. Not bad all and all I think
