I love the Lincoln cent and have been a collector since being a kid. The Doubled Die errors have always fascinated me so within my collection I have some of the best. I will show you mine if you show me yours. The first is my newest addition and is my NGC MS66RB 1955DDO Lincoln Wheat Cent. The 2nd is my PCGS MS66+RD 1972 DDO My 3rd in my 1983 DDR NGC MS68RD My 4th is my NGC MS68RD 1984DDO and finally is my NGC MS69RD 1995 DDO Lets see what you all have got. Share away and enjoy
For those who do not realize it, that is the single highest grade 1955DD in existance (or at least certified).
If I would get paid my years pay in one check and see this coin..... Very beautiful! I hope to one day own one of these DDOs.
Here are some pictures of my NGC MS68RD 1991 Lincoln Memorial with a current population of 10 with none higher. I have not sent this one in yet to have it looked at but it is pretty cool. you can see doubling from the bridge of the nose down through the chin and doubling on LIBERTY and both ones in the date
I love how there is not a single mark or tick on Lincoln's portrait (or anywhere else for that matter). Nice coin.
I have two.... This second one I bought at a auction for $3. It was one of my very first coins that I had sent into a TPG. Once back in hand I noticed that it was the 1953 Proof DDO. I am getting ready to send it back to NGC to have it attributed. The pics suck, but the reverse has this iridescent rainbow color. Coppercoins.com has it listed as their spot light coin http://www.coppercoins.com/spotlight.php They say its one of the toughest Doubled Dies for the Lincoln series.
