Getting back to the money side of this, why not just put IN GOD WE TRUST in latin. That way no one will really know what it means and those that do translate it can interpret it how they want. Kinda like what they did with ANNUIT CŒPTIS on the great seal. No one knows what it means so it never comes up in this argument. And if you do look it up, they try to make it sound like it doesnt mean God has favored our undertakings. But because it doesnt specifically translate to God, it's "okay" i guess.

I wouldn't even call those beliefs or roots, that's more just being opportunistic and telling people what they want to hear. Real beliefs wouldn't change with circumstance. We're seeing an example of that right now with ISIS with all the people getting murdered instead of converting.

Umm, didn't you guys see Jim's advice (#67)? This is Coin Chat, not a forum for political or religious debates. Locked.
