I'm thinking of submitting this for grading. Do any of you think it would get at least an 8? Or is the damage too great? Thanks
A picture of the reverse would help, but I think this note would come back a NET 10, or maybe even 12.
I used to have a 1901 $10 Bison note that was graded F12 by PMG, and it looked much, much better than that. To me, F12 would be a real stretch. Chris
I like to see bills graded, but I hate the ones that come back with the Apparent grading on it. Also it has lots of edge wear, Also can you try and take a photo not on its side. Thanks.
I thought hardly an 8 but I'm not proficient in the grading so if you guys thought it'd make an 8, it's worth sending in.
Well, let's see now. Note is Fr. 1187; Sept 2015 Greensheet says Fr. 1187 VG 8 - bid = $150; ask = $165 Fine 12 - bid = $185; ask = $200 So do the math: cost + grading costs = $ Note total cost If you want to sell you'll have "guesstimate" sales price.
Depends on who grades but I see an F-12 Apparent if you send it to PCGS. I would not grade it. Common note in damaged condition. Grading it will not add value either to you or at sale.
It looks to me like mice or rats gnawed on it. Why else would the edge turn brown around those marks? Chris
