Should I post my pending newp here before I've even mailed the check on it?

Please tell more about this. I am in the process of trimming my collection to just my treasured coins -- Julius Caesar lifetime portrait, LON mint marked Diocletian follis, pristine Constantius "Invasion" follis, Severan "Victory over Britannia" Denari and Carausius/Allectus GGG coins. I have been pondering how to dispose of the rest -- about twenty five London mint early Tetrarchic folles (mostly in VF/EF condition). My kids/grand kids/great-grandkids are not one bit interested in them, we don't need the money and I am now too old/sick/tired/grouchy to go about listing and selling them. I would just like at least some of them to end up in the collections of some appreciative enthusiasts. That is the way I am thinking right now. I would appreciate some feedback/suggestions. (Man, I do like those back-slashes).

You can send a personal message to John Anthony on this forum. He has regular auctions. There is also the CT "for Sale" section you could post them in.

Except when I buy from Valentinian. I never worry about getting his coins! :D

Hmmm ... I don't believe in "jinx" (or, at least I try not to think about it)

=> actually, believing in superstitions kinda scares the hell out of me!!

God, I can only imagine a life where I couldn't step on a crack, because I'd come home and my Mum would have a broken back!! (how awful ... what a horrible thing)

Or, if I saw a penny on the ground, but I was in a super-hurry so I didn't pick it up ... oh my God, did my Mum break her back again? (what a way to live!!)

Oops, I broke a mirror ... oh my God!!

    Is that a black cat!!

Yah, I always post my coin-wins as soon as the hammer falls!!

Oh my God ... just in case I walk under a ladder, or open-up an umbrella inside the house!

=> yah, I want to be able to post my coin-wins before it all goes bad!!

I don't believe I'm superstitious, but I don't go out of my way to prove them wrong. The number 13 has always been my favorite number for example. I bowl as most know. But if the fella on the next lane rolls a split, I'll wait till he bowls it down or the rack removes it. Why? I have no earthly idea other than I don't want my bowling ball to see the split. So, now that I'm writing some of this down, I suppose I am somewhat superstitious. If I step on a crack, is it going to break Steve's back? Now I'm really worried.

I wondered how long it would take someone to see what was right there in my sigline banner. ;)

    Nicely done, @Iosephus!

Incredibly jealous of that Ambrakia Colt! I've been looking for one to join my little stable for what seems like a long time without even coming close. It stood out in your sigline for me yesterday and I checked your album for it without success. For no good reason, I just assumed it was something that was already in your collection, or one that had already parted ways with. In any case, excellent buy, Lord M!

I'll share my most recent Colt, which landed a couple of months ago but hasn't been shared here yet.

That would require familiarity with the previous iteration of your signature line banner and most of us hadn't committed it to memory :p.

Yeah, I certainly didn't expect everyone to follow that closely. If the tables were turned and somebody else had done the same thing and made a subtle switch to their sigline like that, I certainly wouldn't have noticed. But I figured someone observant would pick up on it eventually.

    Ooh! Nice one!

I had a modest-grade but decent Corinthian stater from @Aethelred around the time of the millennium, but parted ways with it and have wanted another since. This one sort of leapt out at me. It's "only" a VF, but a sweet example, I think. I thought the warrior in the field over Athena's head was neat, too.

For my money, some of the Ambrakian issues are amongst the most distinctive of the entire series. I especially like the ones, like yours, where the Pegasos is not simply flying in profile, but actually has its head turned slightly facing. It's a small detail, but it really adds depth and dimension to what is otherwise a very familiar type. They also had some of the coolest control symbols.

Funny => I don't see anybody's signatures (I must have clicked something when I first signed-up for this fun-house and turned them off?) ... I remember finding them irritating (they took-up space) ... unfortunately, now I can't find the setting that would allow me to view your signatures (ahhh, it's a tangled web)

Thank you. I should have read that section of the Forum before I posted. I thought it was a facility for donating unwanted coins to school children etc. as a way to get them interested in collecting coins -- I seem to remember belonging to a message board that did just that years ago -- and I was going to donate a few of my less expensive coins. Anyway, I have found ways to donate my surplus coins locally to (in my mind) worthy causes. I can no longer drive, and I am "not into" packing up coins for mailing, so local disposition is the way to go for me.

either way, that's a great coin @lordmarcovan i see why you were so hyped about it. that little warrior dude is some nice icing on an already sweet cake!
