    Sarah,

You have an excellent collection, and at least one very valuable coin, so may I comment on obtaining insurance that would cover such in case of loss ( fire, storm, theft, etc.) as most likely your homeowner's might not cover them. If you use a safety deposit box, that would suffice, but insurance is good even if you have a decent home safe and many guns or security devices. ANA offers an insurance service that seems very reasonable.

I see a 1917 cent marked a matte proof... that could be a good one as well.... tho the picture doesn't look promising.

    There's also a 1909 marked matte proof.

I have no ideal! It shines like a modern proof, unlike the other 1909 I have. they all have luster, but, this one has POP!

You mean, had pop spilled on it!

This isn't an extreme case of a 'woody' planchet, is it?

It has huge wood grain and red tone, no soda pop! POP! like it jumps out at ya. The shine is very intense and glows. 213sarah

There have been discussions about "red" cents turning brown over time, even in slabs, if the storage situation isn't perfect.

Have you studied up on this and figured out a storage method beyond just leaving it in the slab?

I don't have any slabbed red cents, but have often thought about if I did.
I would possibly put mine in a vacuum food storage bag, assuming the bag itself doesn't prove to contain PVC.
    Just a thought.

    Beautiful collection.
    Thanks for sharing.

Have you ever thought of Intercept Shield Products . I use them and haven't had any of my IHC turn colors while in slabs or in their 2X2s . BTW very nice collection .

I wonder, maybe the slab in a vaccum sealed bag? That may work! even if the bag contains pvc. huh? 213sarah

Looks like it has the wire rim, but the surface looks whizzed to me? Could just be the pics. Nice bunch of lincolns you have there!

Honestly, if you are looking to get a decent price out of the coin I, personaly, would either seek out Heritage OR go to the Pawn Stars place. I only mention those guys because in the past I have seen Rick cough up the money that the coin is worth, especialy when it is graded by PCGS, because he knows not to argue. Also, he will take into consideration the auction house's cut. Usualy 20-30%. I could be wrong, but I am just going by what I have heard/seen.

Huh? Wire rim, whizzed? No, I don't think so.

I'll bet that '09 is spectacular! Sarah, get someone to shoot better photos!
