These days I collect my ancients (mostly) for aesthetic reasons, and so would run screaming from one that looks like that ... BUT ... there is enough of the old "hey, let's check another Roman emperor off the list" philosophy left in me to be impressed with this coin, despite its issues. It's essentially intact... and identifiable. And at the price... oh yeah. Sounds good to me, on a gut-check level, anyway. Not that I can pretend to know very much here. I'd heard of Nigrinian, and knew he was rare, but that's about where my knowledge ends. Glad someone enjoys my kooky polls (I think). PS- FWIW, I amassed over 100 different personalities in my short-lived but passionate "A to Z" (Augustus to Zeno) collection of Roman Imperial coins ... and did it in little more than a year. I started in 2007 as a novice, got that far with it, and in 2008 it all came to a screeching halt when I had to sell them after getting laid off in the Great Recession. But I learned a good bit. What I'm getting at is... I never had Nigrinian, obviously. Coingrats. That's a tough one off the checklist.
