Should dealers update their prices?

Onus is on the retailer to keep customers happy, not the customer to keep the dealer happy.

I manage a cell phone store, trust me, I know more than you'll probably ever learn about customer retention, satisfaction, and what makes them tick.

I never pay the listed price for a coin anyway, I always try to haggle a bit... dealer won't haggle, that's fine, I'll walk away and come back in a week.

I always sell the coin for the marked price or lower and I mark the price on the 2x2 with pencil in order to make changes easier. Some dealers I know don't mark a price on their coins in order to avoid the hassle of raising/lowering prices. I wouldn't do business with a dealer that tries to charge me more than the marked price. I mean really, if a dealer wants more for the coin, they should get off their butts and do a little work.

I'm not sure I get this argument. Of course you wouldn't buy if the price was too high. However, you would by if the price was low and you thought you were getting a great value. Like say when a dealer marks a coin at what you consider to be a great price. Sucks though when he changes his mind at the check out. I understand that dealers may have hundreds of 2x2's with old pricing on them(they shouldn't have priced them in the first place if their selling price was going to constantly chase the spot price), but at least have the courtesy to put up a sign warning buyers that the prices are outdated and that they should inquire for the current price.
