Many people here [wisely] advise against collecting purely for resale value. "Collect what you like" is repeated often. "Don't confuse collecting with investing." While it is true that many of the gold and platinum and colorized and hologram sets have no numismatic value, it doesn't mean they do not have value or a following. People collect these things because they like them. They look nice. And if a group of people collects something, there will probably be a resale market for the item someplace. EVERYTHING is collectible. Whiskey glasses, pocket watches, baseball cards, Broadway programs, barbed-wire, beer bottles, etc ... It is myopic to think that the world of collectibles ends at the numismatic border. Nobody here is going to buy these things [and admit it], but other people might. And nobody knows what people 100 years from now will consider the hottest collectible from the first decade of the 21st century.
Well, there is a huge difference in seduction and rape! It's ok to soliciit business from folks, but NOT OK to take complete advantage of them. So, you might say, "well it's not rape if buyers agree to purchase,' and maybe it's not, but outright lying is not a fair business practice either; and those Coin Vault and Coin Country dimwits are an abomination to our hobby, IMO! As the comic strip says, "There Oughta Be A Law!"
