<p>[QUOTE="mark_h, post: 626120, member: 3726"]Well probably all shield nickels are one variety or another and some are just plain fun to find. So today I added another DDO obverse shield nickel to the collection today. Nothing fancy just a plain coin - at first I thought it was a FS 3.9 from the cherry pickers guide, but from the obverse picture you can see the first 8 does not touch the ball. Plus if anyone knows the variety(either coin) I would be interested in the information.</p><p><br /></p><p><a href="http://s209.photobucket.com/albums/bb15/coinmarks/?action=view&current=1868-ddo-o.jpg" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="http://s209.photobucket.com/albums/bb15/coinmarks/?action=view&current=1868-ddo-o.jpg" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb15/coinmarks/th_1868-ddo-o.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /></a><a href="http://s209.photobucket.com/albums/bb15/coinmarks/?action=view&current=1868-ddo-r.jpg" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="http://s209.photobucket.com/albums/bb15/coinmarks/?action=view&current=1868-ddo-r.jpg" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb15/coinmarks/th_1868-ddo-r.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /></a></p><p><a href="http://s209.photobucket.com/albums/bb15/coinmarks/?action=view&current=1868-DDO-snap1.jpg" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="http://s209.photobucket.com/albums/bb15/coinmarks/?action=view&current=1868-DDO-snap1.jpg" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb15/coinmarks/th_1868-DDO-snap1.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /></a><a href="http://s209.photobucket.com/albums/bb15/coinmarks/?action=view&current=1868-DDO-snap2.jpg" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="http://s209.photobucket.com/albums/bb15/coinmarks/?action=view&current=1868-DDO-snap2.jpg" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb15/coinmarks/th_1868-DDO-snap2.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /></a></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>Now the 1883 was really cool.
