So you are the one who purchased that owl. Lucky, as I was about to snap it up when all of the sudden it showed it was "Reserved". Had you delayed by 1 minute the owl would have been mine. But at last, that's how things shake out. Enjoy it, it is an amazing coin.

Sorry, @Sallent, especially since you gave me one of my first ancients. I doubt that I'll "Clio" ever again. I've got limited taste, limited knowledge, and limited cash.

There's nothing to apologize about. You saw it for sale and you bought it. I was just a little slow in getting to it. That's how things work on Vcoins. Congratulations again. It is a fantastic addition to your collection.

I reached out to Ken yesterday and heard back from him today. He confirmed that he has been banned and said that it appears that it is permanent. The banning of Ken is a real loss for the forum and very perplexing. Given how long some trolls have been tolerated, I can't think of anything that would bring about Ken's demise.

He did not say why when you spoke to him?? Very sad.. I liked his input, willingness to help and his (too infrequent) auctions. He has opinions - I like that. Although I wasn't able to be involved in his latest auction I would not hesitate to support his business going forward.

While I am sure my minor purchases of his lower end coins did not make or break his numbers he always treated me very well and with real professionalism. I would never hesitate to buy from him again.

Here are a few of my ex-Dorney, inexpensive - but cool acquisitions:

Can ANYONE recall a thread where Ken was out-of-line?

I can't recall any thread where he was out of line, possibly this has to do with money. mentioning his auctions here Or online store maybe that is not allowed. I don't mention my business on here as posts get deleted on other sites
I might be wrong but that's what I think.
Too bad Ken is a real cool cat ...perhaps if enough cointalkers complain they can get him back but with that said he might not want to come back?

I can’t imagine Ken getting out of line, especially to the point of a permanent ban. How sad.

I recall noticing that Ken had a link to his auction on biddr in his signature line, and I briefly wondered whether this violated any rules against advertising. At the same time, many other CT members have similar signature lines, and it would thus appear both arbitrary and draconic to permanently ban Ken for this.

Ken has always been open about being both a collector and a dealer. Especially since he to my knowledge never used this forum for solicitation, I'd consider this laudable transparency.

As mentioned above, Ken never hesitated to call out a forgery or a fake seller when he saw one. Many other members, including myself, have vastly benefitted from this. I truly hope that Ken's frankness in these matters was not counted as any sort of rule infraction, in particular because the free exchange of such opinions and information is crucial to the way this forum works.

Is there any way to ask the moderators to reconsider the ban and prevent such a loss to this board?

You could always PM one of them, but they are usually very close lipped about these matters.

As well as Ken's huge knowledge and preparedness to share, he would always correct those posts where dealers were unfairly criticised (depending upon the poster's point of view). I always appreciated this and learned a lot.

He is a massive loss to the forum. I have never seen him being rude. It is very unfortunate for us all.

Won the coin Friday and received it Monday. Can't complain. It's everything I expected, a nice big lovely Roman bronze with beautiful dark patina. The kind of coin that's a real joy to hold.

Man, that is a true bummer to hear that Ken got banned from the CT forum. Really hoping it is temporary and/or a misunderstanding. I've purchased from him several times via his retail site and have had nothing but awesome experiences.

I also picked up a few pieces from his recent auction, favorite one displayed below. Pic is from the acution, but it arrived this evening and I can confirm it is a pleasure to have in hand. There's something strangely cartoony I find appealing about those bearded Pan heads of Panti.
