Share your impulse buys

I've been trying to keep all of my money for my US Type Set, but sometimes I just can't pass up something that I find unique or interesting. This was my (most recent) impulse buy. I thought it would make a fun conversational piece with non collectors that I come across. Post something you've purchased coin related that was on an impulse.

I bought this Sunday on a whim. It just looked so cool, and its very rare. It looks like one goes on sale about once a decade or two.

 

That's pretty cool! I'm afraid I know very little about ancients but it is well designed and a great impulse buy.

My first modern coin buy.

 

I saw this on Tough Coins site around Christmas. Normally I don't collect the Buffalo but I couldn't take my eye off of it. Wife got it for me for Christmas! Don't know if I would have caved in myself.....suspect so.

I have a thing for the Sesquicentennial coins.

 

Never looked a Panamanian coins before, saw it at a small show and had to have it.

 

I couldn't find anything I liked in the usual series I collect at the local dealer, so I added this one and justified it with "guess I'll start a type set."
