I have been acquiring and auctioning quite a few of these, partly spurred by John Albanese's (CAC) comments that these are great pieces in XF and above.

I picked up this one at a show recently: http://www.teletrade.com/coins/lot.asp?auction=3259&lot=1382#n

I'm not sure if the toning is original, but the condition seemed well within the XF range to me.

    Post your Bust coins! Thanks.

Nice pick up! Cool coin. Yeah, it was probably cleaned at some point. But it has been left alone for a long time and its color is certainly market acceptable.

Looks nice to me. Good pickup. And I believe this is the last bust coin I purchased.

These can be hard to find. I stopped at Guilford Coin Exchange today and there were no bust quarters on down on display, he did have some Bust dollars and halves, though.

Wow, is that 1836 a reeded or lettered edge?

I bought a few coins anyway. Their 1798 Bust $1 they priced at GS fine, I decided not to risk it since it wasn't certified. Great coin, but as a fellow at Heritage told me recently, many have problems so won't grade.

Those are great coins. And no problem in good grades I'm sure.

    Lovely busties, ldhair.

Owle, that would be a lettered 1836. The reeded-edge 1836's are quite scarce and very expensive. It would be fun coin to own, if you could find one and had several thousand dollars for a modest VF.

Here are some of my bust coins. An 1836 half with reeded edge, and an 1801 dime.

To continue wit the year 1801 where is an 1801 half and an 1801 dollar.

My apologies for the poor quality of the photos.

This is one of my favorites, even with the spots.

Owle... are you able to turn a profit with Teletrade's commission and your initial cost?
