Need help determining whether this is the more valuable 1953 variety?

I don't think so but with that corrosion my answer is it really doesn't matter.

    That verdigris is nasty.
The NSF has the I in DEI with the borders top and bottom.
The SF had the I in DEI just straight. Yours looks like SF.

That was my original guess as well! If it is, what’s its value? Despite the not so good condition it is in. Thanks!

You could check E-bay to see what they are being bought for. Not what they are being sold for.

What a coincidence. Just an hour ago I went to my Charlton Canadian Catalogue to check out two 1953 cents that I had labeled as "with should strap" about 55 years ago, in 2x2 paper envelopes. @Michael K was spot on with his reference. And, strangely enough, both of my cents had the shoulder strap/fold. Back in those days there was no internet, and the Charlton book was just a thin volume with drawings, a far cry from the current one. Of course, my eyes were far better back then.

I just found what I think are twelve rather low grade NSF's. According to the diagram Michael K posted. Now, what do I have here? I will post photos soon.
