@Kentucky, thanks for the detailed explanation and the educational video. @SensibleSal66, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” Leave the axe, take the cherry pie.
There are/have been 9 mint facilities that struck coins. Current US mints W - West Point nothing or P - Philadelphia D - Denver S - San Francisco Historical mints C - Charlotte, NC D - Dahlonega, GA O - New Orleans CC - Carson City M - Manilla
Quick questions: 1. Which type of coin would you rather buy? A) Later day ASE or B) Norfed 2. Which would you rather buy? A) Peace Dollar B) Later day ASE (thanks @Burton Strauss III !!)
Thoae are very different items. An ASE is the USG getting into bullion sales. Norfed is a crazy protest
Yeah, I read the Norfeld threads here. Putting aside the protest aspect, it appears to be a rarity given the low mintage rate of these types of coins. If you would recall that Cuban cigars were once banned, and now people are allowed to bring them back to the US. At some point, I would imagine the value of a Norfed coin could appreciate in the future as a collectible item. Not sure if this is a good analogy or not.
