I picked this up at work today. Not in great shape but the price was right. Does anyone have an idea as to value and/or population?
52 were identified in the census in the 4th edition of the MPC catalog. This is new to the census. It cats at 125.00/VG 300.00/Fine in the catalog. These prices are probably a little high. Only 2 are known from the second printing (C00672001 and higher).
Nice pick up Clembo! by looking at your picks would say this note would do no better then VF-20 Due to all the wrinkling and staining on both the front and reverse also i cant really see but it Look,s like the lower right corner is missing, If so this note would get a apparent grade which Would drop the value further realisticly you would be looking at between $200-$235 green sheet Value.
Thanks guys and in hand I would not put this note at VF on any given day. F12 would be a stretch IMHO.
Well that will avoid the "Apparent Grade" but still think it would be it that $200 to $235 range Maybe a bit more depending on the collector!
This is the first series 472 (10 cents) I've ever seen. What years was it issued/used ? Thanks for sharing Dan.
Series 472 issued : March 22, 1948 Withdrawn June 20, 1951 The one your looking at is a replacement it,s missing the letter at the end that,s how You can tell that it is, would be similar to a star note on regular currency
