Has anyone ever seen that? Seems pretty rare (for the lack of a better word). These bills are like off the press new too. Wondering if they might be worth anything? I wouldn't think so but just curious.
No folds? Cool. I get sequential bills semi frequently but not replacements. Here is a cool reference for star notes. Goes back as long as 1981 series A. I found a 1981 A $20 and this site helped a bit with the run size. https://www.mycurrencycollection.com/reference/star-notes/1
Looks like an estimated 3.2 million run size. Common, but I'd keep if it means it's in better shape than my others.
Star Note lookup shows both as very less rare. You can google My Currency Collection to find the Star Note Lookup tool.
You can buy straps of star notes on eBay. Which means you could possibly get a strap from a bank. Might be interesting to own, but I just don’t see keeping $100 laying around for the cool factor. A couple of sequential notes is cheap enough to keep. I would keep them.
Your two consecutive star notes are gorgeous, definitely collectable keepers. May not be worth much in today's market, but when your heirs get a hold of them, oh well, you won't know then either. I better shut up huh. Thanks for the share.
As @Jersey magic man stated, you can buy straps of star notes that would give you successive serial numbers in pristine condition, so I wouldn't call it rare, but nice and keepers. https://bid.bkauctions.com/Pack-of-...al-Reserve-STAR-Notes-San-Francisco_i42956359
I have gotten many at my local bank several times in the past. Since this COVID I have not been to them as much. Today, you will see more new stuff at stores than at banks.
