Here are 4 Morgans that are all invoice, packed, & ready to go to be graded by NGC. I'll post my guesses now and I'll post the results when they get back. I encourage you to post your opinions and/or guesses. Thanks in advance!

I'm guessing 62 on this one.

    There's also a 1903 O that I don't have a pic of right now. Hoping it's a 64. I'll let you know how they come out. Thanks!

I went with Early Bird because 1- I'm impatient and 2- they are worth more than $300 a peice.

    Sweet,
whats your plans for the coins once graded? Collection? flip? trade? etc.
Seems you picked an old collection, a nice one at that.

Still struggling to decide which service to use for my next submission with NGC, the coins are all acroos the board...

Not quite sure yet. I'm going to keep the New Orleans minted ones because I have a complete O set now. I'm probably keeping the 1895 S for sure because of the rarity factor. I may part with the 83 S eventually. It depends on how it grades I guess. I've got another 5 or 6 I'm gonna send in the near future. They are all MS coins:

    1878 CC, 1886 S, 188 S, 1889 S, 1891, & 1892.

There's pics of them on the 'Post your Morgan dollars' thread on page 52 if you wanna see them.

In addition the 88S is phenomenal. Where do you get your content?
I ahve a 78 CC and a 84 S im sending in with my submission but theyre no where near the quality of coins you have.

    I only submit cherrypick's IMO
    this was my last submission

    1882 O/S for $30. Came back as a ms-63
1908-s Indian for $3. Came back as VF-20
1901-s quarter for $8. Came back as a genuine but I was still happy.
    1916-d dime for $2.55 came back as a AG-3
1872 Cc dime for $10 came back as a genuine
    1889-CC $1 for $28 came back as a VG-8
1916 dateless quarter for $5.75 came back as f-2
1936-d quarter for $6. Darkly toned I dipped and submitted, she came back a ms-65

    Submission before that
    1927 S .25 vf20
    1927 S .25 G4
    1927 S .25 G4
    1921 P .25 vg8
    1917 P .25 Au50
    1919 D .25 xf40

All came from a private collection

How far along with the set are you?

Which set? I have a complete New Orleans Morgan set. It needs like 2 or 3 upgrades. The 93, 95,& 87 for sure. The rest are 63-64s, but they are raw in a dansco date set album. As far as other keys, rarities, or cherrypicks, I've got :

    a 1896 Philly $1, paid $32, NGC gave it a 66
    1892 CC $1, paid $17, NGC gave it a 63
1889 CC $1, paid $30, came back unslabbed, marked as cleaned (still a G6 IMO)
    1880 O 80/79 VAM 4, paid $32, NGC gave it a 61. Should be PL IMO.
Theres more, but ive gotta hit the sack. Gotta work in like 7 hrs.

Ahhh well, she's still one of my favorite finds. Probably keep it until my son decides he wants to start collecting. He's only 6 months old so it'll be a while. Lol

I've been holding off submitting any Morgans to NGC. I'm hoping that they will have the onsite grading special for $30 at FUN 2012. They didn't begin this special until shortly after FUN 2011, so I'm hoping they will run it there, too. Apparently, it was a huge success at the other shows. If you figure what you save in shipping and insurance plus the fact that you get the coins back the same weekend, you can't go wrong.

Good idea. Unfortunately, they never come to Alaska so that's not an option for me.

Sure, why not? I'd like to see it.
I don't consider myself big game either. I've only got 10 or 15 coins that are truly conditionally rare or valuable.

    Heres my next submission

    1795 h10 vg8 details
    1895 O dime f2 details
    1923 S quarter G4
    1872 CC half xf40 details
    1896 morgan ms63pl
    1884 S morgan xf45/au50.
    1878 CC au53

All my profits are my savings currently, so i flip some, keep the cherrypicks.
Which service should I go with?

Very nice! I guess it depends on how fast you want them back.
