The answer depends on what the coin is. On some coins NGC is tougher with grades, on other coins PCGS is tougher. Knowledgeable buyers, and sellers, know this. And if they are going to spend money on a coin that is truly rare and truly valuable they often want the coin in the tougher of the two for that particular coin.

Winter time is always the best - and time's running out, fast ! Ya gotta figure it's gonna take 2 months, maybe 3, to get the coin slabbed. And if you want CAC - add another month. And then you're gonna have to wait for the next auction, and the auction company will decide which auction will be best. And that may be 2 or even 3 or more months away. You'd save the slabbing cost which is going to be considerable, you'd save the auction fees which are definitely going to be around 20% - also considerable, and you'd save all the time involved. And you'd be able to do it now, in the winter which is the best time. And if it's a truly rare and valuable coin, knowledgeable buyers are not going to have a problem buying it raw. They'll fight with each other to do so.

So you got some thinking to do.
