I went to my paypal account, and they tell me that from now on, I have to wait a certain amount of time to get my money. They say it's insurance in case the buyer complains. I don't know if that's normal. I never had that trouble before. The memo says after a given amount of time, or unless the buyer leaves a positive feedback, then I get my money. It makes me feel like I'm being punished for something. I have nothing put positive feedback--all green. Then, after they release my money, I have to go through the motions of transferring the money from Paypal to my bank account. They don't mind taking money from your bank account in a split second, but you got to wait for yours. That bites.
If you read back in this thread you will see where I pointed out to you that you should not expect to access the proceeds from your sales for 45 days in case you have a dissatisfied customer. In reality you can usually get access to your proceeds right away. When eBay or PayPal place your proceeds in the "pending" state you usually won't have to wait the full 21 days for the hold to be released. If the seller leaves positive feedback , they release the hold immediately.
Kangyou is spot on. Generally once they pay, I'll leave postive feedback and send them ebay msg or a email saying, items on the way, left you postive feedback please do the same when you get the item. And if after a resonable amount of time (couple days) after they should have gotten it, I'll spend a follow up asking for postive feedback. That's just me though. Some sellers like to wait until the buyer leaves feedback first.
I think you're right about the Sunday postings as for whatever reason that seems to be the best time to buy for me. I know ppl are gonna think that's insane but that's just how my experiences have gone. Absolutely true on the full disclosure statement! As far as Ebay goes I find that if you're honest and you list the facts about your item then you will be fine. just my 2 cnts
Have you backed up your PayPal with a credit or bank card ? They want the assurance that there is money available in case of a stop payment through a buyers' credit card. Which can happen up to 45 days after the transaction. You can always get a PayPal credit card to use for that account, and niot directly tie any other cards to it.
because im young i dont use ebay 1 no credit card and 2 not too trustworthy in my opinion i did use listia.com they got some coins and usaly free shipping but i think ebay is to filled with scams so a buyer becomes weary of all offers
I am sure your wariness is fully warranted. From a more personal perspective, I have only had good luck with my transactions to date. My philosophy being that people are more generally honest than otherwise. However, a modicum of cheats and transgressors can ruin anything.
