The submission was turned into a N/C submission. And to be perfectly truthful, I had indicated that I wanted TrueView on some of the coins with the presumption that they'd be Trueviewed "IF" they upgraded. No doubt, some wires got crossed but the fact remains that it took "me" to contact them to find out what was happening instead of "THEM" contacting me. On submissions where they could squeeze a few more bucks out of the order (such as the 5 coin 2014 Kennedy Submission) they call or email within days.
Thanks for the reply. It seems that customer service in many areas of the coin business is lacking. The grading company has "professional" as part of their name, so one would expect that to be the case. Mistakes do happen and it's nice that they made that submission free. However, if you had an older holder (rattler, doily, etc) it would still be disappointing to lose it unless extra compensation was given (and in a timely manner).
I usually summarize it this way Half Full PCGS has the market leadership position, they are a legend in their own mind NGC is the Avis - we try harder - they picked a fight over gradeflation with PCGS back a few months... lots of sound and fury, signifying nothing. ANA members can submit without buying a membership. ANACS will (correctly) attribute more varieties from more sources. Affordable and no membership fees. ICG has the educational slab for contemporary counterfeits. Half Empty PCGS definitely a Rolls Royce mentality NGC has pulled some stupid stunts that have detracted from their core product - anybody remember Baseball HOF with reproduction signatures? ANACS - can't out run it's history from the Gold label and blue label days. ICG - I can't grade
