This tiny bronze fellow has a very strange reverse. I'm not even sure which way is up, so I rotated it 4 different ways in the photo. Does anyone have any guesses what it is or where it is from? Is there such a thing as a cross between a moose and a palm tree? (If nothing else, the reverse should be able to elicit some interesting joke responses.) Size is just over 9 mm, weight is about 1.1g. Thanks for any advice or suggestions.
Looks like I might not get an ID out of this, but the Sideshow Bob response made it worth the effort. Thanks, Kentucky! I agree with joecoincollect. Totally unsure. Maybe a sea anemone . . .
I'm bumping this thread because I think I may have figured out what this coin is. Here's an image of the coin--9 mm, 1.1 g--with what I think is the correct orientation of the reverse: And here is another example of what I think is (more or less) the same coin: Ionia, Phokaia, ca. 300 B.C. Here's another example from Wildwinds: BMC 94; SNG Aulock 2135 Any thoughts?
