    That is a very nice vignette. I think I just like the naval vessel engravings in general as MPC posted a note of his a bit ago that had an engraving of a submarine on it. Or maybe it was the space scene on the reverse that did it for me on that one who knows.:D

    Yes, it's intaglio. Very scarce card. I've never seen it in person, although I have seen a silk handkerchief with the vignette. Not many people know that the BEP printed many souvenir hankies at these early expositions. These are even rarer than the early cards. Also intaglio.

    A hankie! Now that's something to see! Silk actually takes intaglio detail extremely well but it's a very difficult material to print well without wrinkling the fabric when run under the pressure of a press. Very interesting piece to see.b

    That Hankie is a rare find ,I'm sure ! I never knew you could intaglio print on a cloth meterial like this,also the vignette is fantastic,very nice .

    I don't collect the actual hankies (too pricey), but I do collect images of them. I'm thinking of posting a thread -- do you think there'd be enough interest? It's kind of a niche collectible.

    I do believe the interest exists even if only a dozen or so members here are ABNCo fanatics. I would appreciate seeing them! Post away...
