Security device on coins

    I love to complain but in truth, it was pretty nice. Although I don't think I would do it again, it was definitely a neat experience!
    One guy did his eyebrows (he was pretty hardcore). I kept it to the scalp, as I can't imagine how crazy I would have looked without eyebrows hehe

    So does the Euro. In fact they have more than one image a side.

    While the latent image was first used in Spain, long before the euro, our circulation coins do not have latent images. As far as I know, the Spanish mint (FNMT-RCM) had suggested to build something like that into the circulation coins too, but the plans were dropped.

    Some countries use latent images on collector coins, or commemorative €2 coins. (Luxembourg will often do that when it comes to common issues, i.e. same design for each member state - this way they can build the portrait of the Grand Duke in.) These days there are more sophisticated technologies, as you wrote, such as MultiView Minting ...
