Oh no! I really hope you and family are OK. Your last hiatus certainly left a hole around these parts - something that I hope we do not have to repeat. Stay safe!
I'm OK, but we just buried my mother-in-law the day before yesterday. She died suddenly and unexpectedly, but without much suffering, and at the end of a long and exemplary life. So far my wife is taking it pretty well, but now she's the one having to shoulder the bills and head-of-household duties for her surviving father, who's even older than his wife was.
Sorry to hear about that @lordmarcovan. This past year was tough on our family. My Aunt, the last survivor of that generation died, her son-in-law died and then her daughter died. All within 6 months. That left her granddaughter, my second cousin, the sole survivor of that wing of the family. As with many others, I'll be glad to see the backside of 2020.
A package arrived! It just so happens I won a coin from a German auction last week, so I was about to open it when the handwritten adress gave me a pause . Exciting! Why can’t it be the 17th already tomorrow… I have a hunch who it might be, but will have to wait a little to find out As for my package; shipped out and hopefully arriving soon!
Deepest regrets, @lordmarcovan . Hope your Wife, your Family, and you are well. Think of you and yours.
I am also very sorry to hear about your recent difficulties @lordmarcovan . Your Saturnalia give away is just the latest example of the selfless way you interact on this forum and I know you will be missed on your hiatus. I hope things improve for you soon.
Well it is December 5th and as such entry into the Saturnalia gift exchange is officially closed. If you sent me a PM and didn't receive a response please let me know as soon as you can.
So many things happened last month that I completely forgot to buy a gift. I have a target on eBay I hope to win in a couple days, and a BIN target as a backup. That should give me enough time to have it arrive by Saturnalia. I haven’t received anything on my end yet, so I don’t feel too bad
I was only talking about being late, but thank you for making me look like a Scrooge with your selective quoting. That sure puts me in the holiday spirit.
Hardly, selective. It's what you wrote that would fit in the quote bubble. But if your feelings were hurt, I apologize. Just trying to make you think about what you're putting out there my man. I cannot put you or anybody into the holiday spirit. It's about loving your fellow man, gratitude and giving.
The point I was trying to get across was that I would feel super ashamed if I had already received a gift when I haven’t even sent out my own yet.
Sure, sure. "I haven’t received anything on my end yet, so I don’t feel too bad " Conveys that shame perfectly
