Well, the computers at work are down (I know some think I don't work by the apparent time I am on CT) so I am gonna go and mail the stuff. Some lucky person is going to receive (USPS willing) . . . .
I concur with your assessment. Personally I'm letting my daughters (Leela 4 and Kira 5) open whatever gift I receive in the exchange. They helped pick out the gift I sent out to my Secret Santa buddy. I know that it will mean even more to them receiving a special secret Santa gift and I'm sure the sender will be happy getting to see their smiling faces with the gift. I'll be sure to post up photos once their gift arrives to open for all to see as they don't fair to well in the patience department lol.
So I am learning as I play along. I was thinking that if I don't give screennames, people will not be able to know what exactly to give, but I'll put it in my notes to include screennames for the ease of you guys for next year. I also got mine out Monday and received mine too. And I didn't last the 20 minutes, in fact, I opened the package thinking it was one of the coins I bought, saw the wrapping paper, and stuck it in the tree... So tempting...
It's too bad I didn't find this thread earlier, would have been great to exchange gifts with people and maybe get a new/different addition to my coin collection. Maybe next year!
Well I feel like a loser. Sorry to my secret santa recipient, I didn't gift wrap them, just mailed them in a bubble mailer. Sometimes I guess I am too much of a "guy".
I also simply sent my gift out in a bubble mailer. I probably could have wrapped the inside up, but I'd be leery of anything on the outside giving it away as a gift just in case. In other news I received my secret santa gift today and gave it to my daughters, Thank you Secret Santa as they were very happy.
Don't feel alone on this one. Although at least I put my gift in a box. Supplied by our U.S. postal service. With pretty red white and blue all over it.
People talking about when they open gifts reminded me that as a kid, my mom couldn't wait, so Christmas Eve was the time to open presents. After marriage, my wife decided that tradition required opening on Christmas Morning, so that's the way it was while my kids were small.
