Oh darn, that's exactly what I sent to my Secret Santa!! I saw the commercials and thought "man, 14mg of gold!! what a deal, and I can only buy 5, these must be rare!!!"
I got mine in the mail today. Sorry for being slightly tardy, but should arrive in plenty of time for Christmas. Mail from Minneapolis seems to move quickly.
I got my package today and already opened it. I have no patience! LOL I don't have ideal lighting, so trying to take a picture isn't going to happen. But what I got was a grab bag of various coins. Got 3 older Jefferson nickels, 46d wheat, 2009 8 cent set, madison 07D silver plated dollar, both 76 Ike varieties, Georgia state quarter silver plated, 2011 D half, 66 half, 52 dime, 39 dime, new jewelry loupe (I needed an extra one!) and a rainbow toned 78 half. That rainbow toned half is nice!! I wish I could get a good picture of it, but my camera cannot capture it's colors correctly. At any rate, I really enjoyed getting this gift and I plan on participating next year!
Sent my package out this morning. My apologies to my recipient for the late shipping, but I hope that you really like it.
I'm pledging to wait until Christmas to open mine, still haven't received it though so that might change the situation! :smile
The package I received is heavy and wrapped in brown paper with a note reading "Merry Christmas from your Secret Santa!" That made me realize I didn't identify on the package I sent out the Secret Santa part!
Some guy in a red suit and wearing a stocking cap nabbed mine today. I saw him toss it into a big sleigh, right behind the last buck in a line of 8, no wait, make that 9.. The guy said he was making deliveries to some internet group.. Go figure. Red suit, sleigh, bucks.. made me wonder if he was telling the truth. Lucy
My recipient should have received today, although whether or not they wait to open it is up to them though
Cannon did ask us back in post number one to TRY to wait until Christmas to open. He did, however, say that he only lasted twenty minutes...
I never wait until Christmas. Even tonight, my mom and step-dad came over and gave presents to my kids. I also let the kids open up my presents for them. Christmas day we're off to relatives houses, so I never wait until Christmas to give them their presents. And as such, I never wait until Christmas to open mine. It's the thought that counts after all.
I got my package today. I shook it up to try to guess what it was, but I don't have a clue as to what it could be. I'm going to try to restrain myself, but I will be shocked if it remains unopened until Christmas though. Thank you very much Santa.
I got mine last night, and I only lasted about 5 minutes (yes, I am a big kid when it comes to presents). I got some Buffalo nickels and a war nickel. Thanks Secret Santa and everyone who participated.
After reading this, I figured out how you did it and was also able to figure out who I was sending to. Unfortunately I completely missed the mark on what he collects, but I hope he will still be happy with what I sent. Who doesn't like silver?
I would not stress about this a second man. I think of Secret Santa as a way to opening up your idea of collecting. I got a slabbed lincoln cent last year, and anyone who knows me knows that is about as far away from my collecting interest as you can get. I LOVED it. Nothing better than to get something completely different than you buy for yourself, and I appreciated the sentiment. Well, at least I hope that is how my Secret Santa recipient views my gift. If not, he will probably be like, "what the heck are these old things?"
Dear Santa, Thank you for dropping by my home today. I promise to leave the package under my tree until Tuesday. Is it okay to just peak a tiny bit? J/k; I will wait. lucy
