Well, Mike, you have about six weeks to learn about Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday is February 9th this year.) Congrats. Nice haul.

 

I also had the family sitting around me but no one but me seemed as interested as I was! That's okay, I was a little overwhelmed by the amount I received. A very gracious gift for sure. The Indian head cents are probably my favorite but I love all of it! With all of the post apocalyptic Sci-Fi books I read, the Zoombucks are perfect for me. Nothing like big chunks of Silver and Copper to get me through the apocalypse, with the exception of Gold of course. Just Kidding Thank you Secret Santa!!!

 

I opened my gift today! Who doesn't like Silver Eagles? Thank you to my secret santa and Merry Christmas!

A fantastic haul for me. 1 centavos throuh 5 peso Japanese invation currency, U.S. 1 dollar start note and two rfference books on US paper mobey! What an awesome gift! And what a blast. Can't wait to read through all the updates herebwhen I get more time.

 

Opened mine when I got home from work this morning and all I can say is thank you very much Santa! Here is my haul:




An AH1370 Moroccan 5 Francs coin (on account of my Casablanca avatar). Then, my funny (or should I say punny?) Santa gave me "two halves to make the gift whole." XD




Thank you very much Santa! I actually only have one other Franklin Half which is in my type set album, so this will definitely find a home in my collection.

Also, Santa says I need to post more... we will see about that

Mardi Gras doubloons are fascinating. You will have a good time researching the clubs (krewes) they came from!

 

I actually let my girls open my SS gift last night and meant to post the photos but was wiped out after wrapping their gifts so I'm posting the pics now. Received a beautiful March of dimes special silver set and a very nice cameo 40% silver 1971 S proof Eisenhower dollar or 'brown Ike'. I was surprised my girls didn't fight over who got to keep which, maybe knowing Santa was watching kept them a little bit better behaved than usual .

My oldest Kira wanted the MOD dollar, my second youngest Leela wanted the brown Ike and they left the MOD dimes for my littlest Liam who was asleep at the time.

Im just a big kid, sitting here watching everyones gifts being unwrapped. I have 4 kids so I am a sucker for christmas. I have always been the type to give to someone when in need, even before social media made it "cool". Christmas is by far my favorite holiday because I get more out of giving and making people smile rather than receiving! To me, its exciting seeing everyone unwrap something from a complete stranger outside of an internet connection. Great stuff going on here guys, keep it coming and to the main man @Kirkuleez, if u need some help in the future, dont hesitate to call on me, because what you did here is huge!

Opened the gift from my SS. There was no way for them to know the direction my collecting has gone or will go, but this series has held my fascination for a while and I occasionally catch myself drooling over these coins only to later tell myself to finish what I've started before delving into another series. Well now there is no reason to stop. Thank you very much to my Secret Santa. I truly do enjoy them!!
