As I was wrapping presents last night, seemed like a good time to unwrap as well…. Thank you Secret Santa for my very first & very cool ancient coins! I’ve actually been lurking in the ancient threads since I first joined CT, so I’m going to have fun seeing if I can correctly identify these (apologies for the quick poor photos, getting ready to leave so everything’s packed up). Thanks again Secret Santa & all the Best of the Season to you & your family!
Well, I couldn't resist so I opened my SS package last night. I received some very fine gifts! Thank you Secret Santa! First, I got a very nice 1955 cent - this may be the next direction I go after I get the final coin for my Kennedy set. I received a beautiful 10c pc from France - what a lovely design! Then what appears to be a 1964 coin from Mexico (I need to research more), and a 1923 Peace Dollar (my favorite dollar design). Also included was a 1776-1976 $2 chip from Harvey's Resort Hotel in South Lake Tahoe Nevada. I don't have any casino tokens, so this is a nice addition. Thank you again Secret Santa!!!

Santa came early and the presents are under the tree. I know one that will be early on the list to open! Merry Christmas everyone!
Wishing a very Happy Christmas to all the Santas who took part in the 2015 CT SS exchange! Hopefully everyone receives their goodies by today for Christmas day fun. Should be an interesting follow up forthcoming as we see the remaining gifts shared with the thread. A very special Thank You goes out to our number #1 Santa, the host and organizer, Kirk! Thank you, Kirk. Hope all your holidays are magical and your new year bountiful and healthy.
A most Merry Christmas to you and yours Darryl. I was tempted to tear into mine tonite, but I (like you) shall wait till Christmas morning......
2nd that. Kirk has once again done an outstanding job at orginizing this years festivities. Hat's off to my friend from the Crescent City........
This wasn't from my Secret Santa, it was my Christmas bonus from the owner of the coin shop that I work at part-time. A 1904 year set!
Looks like you wrap like I do. Everything gets wrapped with the same roll of paper. My wife hates that. I just tell her if she don't like it, do the wrapping for me.. She just hands me another roll and tells me to get busy.
There has been a definitive lack of Christmas movies this year. I haven't been able to find the Christmas Carol with Alastair Sim, the true original version. Last year one of the cable channels showed it continuously one day.
Currently watching The Christmas Story 2 (did not even know it existed!) Which is the only Christmas movie I have caught this year. I am from the midwest, which would make it 11:28pm, but i am currently on vacation in Georgia which makes it 12:18 am. So on that note, I would like to wish all my coin talkers a very Merry Christmas! Looking forward to spending another year here with you guys!
I never heard of a sequel either. I'll have to check it out! We watched the first Home Alone movie. Watching my 6 year old son watch that movie for the first time was awesome! He laughed almost the whole way through; it was like watching magic happen!
Thank you Santa! I opened this morning with my kids interested and , as usual, my wife totally indifferent to anything coin related. Found a cool 8-pack of coins including an 1848 large cent and 1909 VDB Lincoln ( can't find the S). But my favorites are a 1921 British penny and a very nice 1897 Mexican centavo from the Culiacan mint. Only Culiacan ( mintage of 300,000) and Mexico City ( mintage of 4,150,000) minted centavos that year and was the last year of that type. Sorry the pics aren't better.
