Secret Santa 2014

To me is trying to make someone else's day great far more important than what I get. Tho I was thrilled with my gift. I don't expect to get what I collect which is fine I like expanding my knowledge and horizons but especially if I can light up some yns day or further some newer collector is what makes it all worth it! As to the gold set I do believe was a joke

I know I'm late, but I just picked up my mail after a week's trip to Virginia to spend Christmas with my son and his wife. I have no idea who my SS is, but he sure was nice to me. I must have been a very good boy (hmmm, I think he don't know me very well, do he?). In addition to the images below, he sent some chocolate coins to help increase my girth. Thanks to my wonderful SS.

Missed a few pages of this thread (don't get notifications for some unknown reason) and just got caught up. Great gifts fellows!

 

Two things:

1. The was absolutely worth the 2 hours it took me to read through.

2. I saw the initial post\invite, but thought what do I have that someone else out here would want. Shame on me. Next year I'm in!

A belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all, looking forward to a whole new year of learning and collecting with you guys.

 

It's all from the heart and has nothing to do with what's 'monetary' in nature. In the classical sense, "it's the thought that counts". And I think that all of my fellow collectors have 'thought' wisely.

 

I hope you do join next year. This is so wonderful to do... both in giving and receiving.

 

I will say this.....what I received last year in the 'Secret Santa' I knew came from a young collector. A generous gift from one who had little, and I knew that it was all they had. That, my friends, is far more than you or I could ever give.

 

Me too, not getting notifications on this thread. Already tried unwatching and watch with messages, but to no avail.

 

It was fun! Maybe we should try a Christmas-in-July event...?
