Thanks for the news, 5 dollar.

Not enough info on the coins, except they do state that they are $20 USD, and no close up pix.
    Can anyone find more info/pix?

Goes to show what happens when your hiding spot for a stash does its job too well. That why i keep reminding people of situations like this whenever we have a discussion on clever ideas to hide their valuables.

I love finding stuff stashed in old houses! I've never found gold but have found cash at times.

One story suggests that the owner (a wine merchant) may have been making money off of the books during Prohibition.

There's a good chance that they died unexpectedly (or came down with Alzheimer's / amnesia) without telling anyone else about their stash.

Here is a short article from France24 in English with a photo; click on the image to enlarge it.
    http://www.france24.com/en/20120214-champagne-producer-strikes-gold

And this is from France 3 TV, in French, with more photos:
    http://champagne-ardenne.france3.fr...e-monde-parle--72485582.html?onglet=diaporama
At the bottom there are four thumbnails, and one of them shows some more details. Click on that one. :)

On that same "page" you can also view a video in French here:

In the first one (after the commercial) you see, at roughly 0:40, the wall and ceiling they were working on. The coins show up a few seconds later ...
