To demonstrate how we can keep this numismatic, I'll point out that the Emperors are known to have issued reverses honoring Aesculapius when there was sickness in the Imperial household. This Gordian III and Tranquillina is not one that we know was intended to curry favor with the god for healing from some known illness but it is sent here with wishes for a speedy recovery.
