If you were a part of this group 12 to 14 years ago you may remember me posting quite often about half dime varieties. I am once again starting to collect them again...Boy...that coin album is hard to find!! Anyway...once I start buying them again I will start posting like I used to. I still believe that they are a very underrated series....even at their rising values.

May I ask what happen to your collections? Do you still have them?? If you do you should post them...

Awesome!! I started H10’s after being inspired and prompted by @Paddy54. He doesn’t post often anymore, so Im glad to see another variety collector!! Welcome back! Mint State examples are a little out of my price range, but I don’t mind a little circulation on coins that are so old. 26824AC8-D73C-4A83-A4C5-19805548DEF9.jpeg 31E20015-8453-440B-AA86-CF4778C9CBB0.jpeg

Regretfully I sold all of my collection about 8 years ago and I'm starting over.. I wish I still had pictures . at least. I wish I would have at least kept the half dimes

Half dimes are really cool coins! If they weren’t so small I think they’d be a lot more popular.
I only have a few. A couple for my type set and this proof that was love at first sight...

I love the half dimes but the only way I can really appreciate them fully is to photograph them and blow them up. Attribution is difficult for me as there doesn't yet seem to be a complete guide like Gerry Fortin's for the dime.

I have all the Red Book varieties in AU-MS in my type set but I'm not collecting by date or die marriage, yet.

That is a lovely proof coin.

If you don't have them...Both are showing their age, but are still worthwhile.

Valentine, Daniel W, The United States Half Dimes. (Note: originally published in 1931. There is also a 1975 reprint by Quarterman Publications with additional data from Kam Ahwash and others.)

I have neither publication but I have used them from the Newman Numismatic Portal. There were still some coins I couldn't attribute. There is a nice, work-in-progress, attribution guide by Clint Cummins on the Liberty Seated Collectors Club website.

Anyway, here are the LSHDs in my type set. I have another 1837 No Stars in AU-50 not shown here. It's a nice coin, I just haven't gotten around to photographing it yet. Just today, I finished photo'ing every coin in my type set, some 116 coins from colonials to today, and nowhere near complete. Kevin Flynn’s book on H10’s is what you want. I use that and Valentine’s.
